Date the Doctor privacy notice
Effective date: 22 September 2026
Grazer is owned and operated by Grazer Holdings Limited. Registered office: 147 Station Road, North Chingford, London, United Kingdom, E4 6AG.
This notice explains how Grazer Holdings Limited uses personal information submitted for the Date the Doctor campaign. It covers your campaign application and the draft saved on your device. It does not change how we use existing Grazer account data. You can also read our main Privacy Policy and the campaign terms.
Information we collect
When you apply, we collect:
- Your first and last name, date of birth (used to check you are 18 or over), email address, and the country and city you live in
- How you describe your gender, and an optional note about it
- Whether you would consider relocating, and your availability for a verification call
- Your diet and, if vegan or plant-based, your primary reason for it; your written answers about yourself, why you might be a match, what you want out of life and anything else you choose to tell us
- Whether you have or want children, and your pets, any optional details about them and how you feel about them
- How you rank the five love languages
- Optionally, whether you are religious or spiritual, and how active you are in animal or climate activism, each with an optional note
- Whether you are happy to be filmed or featured, which is optional and does not affect your application
- One or two photographs
- The consent choices, campaign identifier and submission time attached to your application
- Reviewers’ notes and assessments, a profile-match score derived from your answers, and records of application status and access
- Limited technical and security information, such as IP address and browser details, used to prevent spam, fraud and misuse
Your answers are saved on this device so you can return to the form, except for photos and your diet-motivation, religion and activism answers. These are never included in the saved draft, even after you tick application consent. After a refresh, you need to re-enter those answers, add your photos and tick consent again.
The draft is not sent to Grazer unless you submit. It is cleared after a successful submission or when you choose to start again. A draft expires after seven days without saving changes and is removed when you next open the page.
Please do not include financial information, identity documents, medical records, your full home address, or information about another person in your answers.
Sensitive information
Your answers about religion, spirituality, activism and diet motivation can reveal religious or philosophical beliefs, political opinions or health information. These may be special category personal data under UK data protection law. Religion and activism are optional. If you select vegan or plant-based, the form asks for your primary reason before continuing, and “Prefer not to say” is one of the choices, so you never have to give us a reason you would rather keep to yourself.
Beyond those, applying to date a named person, and the answers you choose to provide, may reveal or allow us to infer information about your sexual orientation, health, religious or philosophical beliefs, racial or ethnic origin, or other sensitive matters. Some of this is also special category personal data.
We process any such information only with your explicit consent and solely to assess and administer your Date the Doctor application. We do not use facial recognition or other biometric identification on your photographs.
Why we use your information
We use the information to:
- Check campaign eligibility and review your application
- Contact you about the application, verification and selection process
- Share shortlisted applications as described below
- Protect the campaign and its participants from fraud, spam and safety risks
- Meet legal obligations and respond to data protection requests
For the application and any sensitive information you provide, we rely on your consent and, for special category information, your explicit consent. For proportionate security and fraud prevention, we rely on our legitimate interests in protecting the campaign and its participants. We keep evidence of consent and handle data protection requests to meet our legal obligations.
People at Grazer review applications. A profile-match score based on selected answers helps the team review them; reviewers also record their own assessments. No score automatically selects or rejects anyone.
Who can see your information
Access is limited to the Grazer campaign team and service providers that host or secure the application service on our behalf. If you are shortlisted, we may share the relevant parts of your application and photographs with Dr Michael Greger or his authorised representative so they can participate in the selection process.
We may also disclose information where required by law or where necessary to protect someone’s safety. We do not publish applications, sell application data, or use it for unrelated advertising.
Where we store it
We store your application and photos using Google Cloud’s London region. Your information is encrypted, and access is restricted to authorised people and services involved in running the campaign. A service provider may process limited information outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area. Where this happens, we use an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism and contractual safeguards.
We use Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise to protect the application form from automated abuse. Google may process limited technical information, such as browser and network signals, for that security check. We do not use those signals for advertising or to decide which applicants progress.
Cookies on this page
With your permission, this page uses Google Analytics and the Meta pixel to see how it is used and to measure and target our advertising. If you choose Reject, neither loads and you can still apply in exactly the same way. You can change your choice at any time from Cookie settings at the bottom of the page.
Neither receives your answers, photos or anything else you type. The Meta pixel records that you visited, whether you applied and whether you went on to an app store. If you are logged in to Google, Facebook or Instagram, they may link this to your account, and we may show you Grazer ads there.
How long we keep it
The campaign page shows the closing date and time (UK time).
We delete unsuccessful applications and photos within 90 days after applications close. Shortlisted applications are deleted within 90 days after the campaign finishes, and no later than six months after applications close.
We keep a minimal consent record for one year after deleting your application: an identifier, when you consented and the version of the consent wording you agreed to. This lets us show that we had your consent. It does not include your answers, photos or application outcome.
Separate safety or legal records are covered by our main Privacy Policy. Backups are removed through their normal secure deletion cycle.
Your choices and rights
You may withdraw your consent at any time by emailing feedback@grazerapp.com with the subject “Date the Doctor privacy”. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before you withdrew, but we will remove your application from further consideration and delete it apart from the limited records described above.
You may also ask us to access, correct, delete or restrict use of your information, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where the right applies, you can ask for a portable copy of the information you provided. You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (opens in a new tab) if you are unhappy with how we handle your information. If you live outside the UK, you may also be able to complain to your local data protection authority.
